Best in Beauty. . . Vol. I

I’ll be the first to admit, I have an abnormal obsession with all things beauty related.  Since I try and use so many different products, I know what’s good, great and BAD.  I figured I would share some things that you probably didn’t even know existed, but need in your life. You’re welcome.

Nope.  It’s not a cream that you use when you’re having some sort of female issue.  (Just me that thought that? Okay, moving on. . .) Vanicream, is in fact an amazing lotion for dry skin.  It was developed by a team of dermatologists at the Mayo Clinic specifically for problem skin.   I have been using the “Lite” version for sensitive skin.  It’s just a plain ole, unscented lotion. They have a whole line of products (soap, sunblock, etc) for dry and sensitive skin. If you have itchy skin issues, try it.  It’s amazing.  I’ve seen it at my local CVS, but you can find it on Amazon.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water

I have no idea what the heck is in this stuff, but it’s awesome. Mist it on your face before you apply your makeup, and your foundation goes on smoother and lasts longer.  It doesn’t fill in pores or lines, so don’t get TOO excited.  But if you feel like your skin needs a pick-me-up before you apply your makeup, use this.  It just makes your face look better.  Note: It is kinda expensive, ($32! EEK!) but you can get the small one ($16) to try and see if it works for you.  🙂

Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask

Another holy grail product.  Slather this baby all over your face, leave it on for 20 minutes and then wash off.  You’ll look like Jim Carrey in the MASK, but it’s worth it.  After you remove it, your skin feels smooth and AMAZING.  The charcoal helps draw out impurities so it’s especially good if you are acne prone or have blackheads.  However, it’s good for all skin types.  Use it once a week – try not to scare your significant other – and you’ll really notice a difference in your face.

MAC Extended Play Gigablack Lash Mascara

TIP: Use this as a mascara solely for your bottom lashes. What? Yep, bottom lashes ONLY.  The brush is small and skinny so it’s perfect for getting right in there.  You know exactly what I’m talking about.   The formula does not smudge or budge.  If you’re prone to looking like a panda by the end of the day, this might be for you.  It might seem a little high maintenance to have a mascara for only your bottom lashes but. . . Okay, there’s no excuse.  It’s ridiculous.  Do it.

Cococare Cocoa Butter Lip Balm

I’m actually not a huge fan of lip balm (um, why wear lip balm when you can wear lipstick??) but this is the best. It’s awesome.  Just trust me on this one.  No more flakey lips.  You’ll never go back to regular Chapstick.  Guys like it too, cause it’s not girlie or fruity scented.  Pure cocoa butter heaven.

That’s all I have for now.  If you try any of these, and LOVE them (or hate them). . .let me know! xo

Happy Friday Eve!
