Champagne Pop. The newest addition to my collection. For those who aren’t familiar with Becca Cosmetics, they make a variety of different products but are most well known for their beautiful highlighters. Becca recently did a collaboration with Youtube sensation, Jaclyn Hill. I totally have a girl crush on Jaclyn. She just seems so sweet and genuine. She is also a huge fan of highlighters, hence the collaboration with Becca. I’ve actually had this for awhile but have totally been slacking on the blog… 🙁 Moving on…
The result: A beautiful champagne colored (duh) highlighter.
Highlighters are meant to give you that “glowing from within” look without looking like you have glitter all over your face. This 100% does that. I still can’t get on board with the whole “highlight on fleek” (heh?), but I do love a good highlighter. Sweep this on your cheekbones and it adds a whole new dimension to your makeup look. It will look good on a variety of skin tones. It can also be used as an eyeshadow. There are TONS of highlighters on the market and it’s a bit of a trial and error to find one that’s perfect for you. At $38, it’s definitely a splurge, but it’s like having an Instagram filter in a compact. Hello, gorgeous. Which brings me to my next subject.
Filters and photoshop. I love a good filter as much as the next person. I mean, I get it. I do. Everyone has flaws they want to blur out. But it’s just not real life. Obviously. I’m all for it… Just not when it makes me feel bad for not actually looking like the pictures. Just me? I can’t be the only one. Maybe I should start following more people who post pics of cute animals.
Exhibit A. I took this picture to capture the beauty that is Champagne Pop. Pretty, right? (The highlighter, not my face. . .) I used a beauty app to enhance the picture on the right. My skin is smoother and bye bye under eye bags. Kinda crazy.
So in conclusion, Champagne Pop is gorgeous. If you need a new highlighter this is one to consider. I’m not gonna say you need it, because who really needs makeup? Okay, I lied. Everyone could use more makeup in their life. Oh and not everything you see on the internet is real life. But you already knew that. 😜
Who’s tried this? What’s your favorite highlighter? Thoughts?
